Islam is a monotheistic religion whose last prophet is Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). It is the best religion in the world which has a lot of followers. The word "Islam" means submission to the will of Allah, which is an Arabic word.

The central belief of Islam is that there is only one God, Allah, who is omnipotent and merciful. Allah revealed the Holy Qur'an to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel (peace be upon him), and it is considered the holy book of Islam. The Holy Quran contains instructions and teachings for Muslims on how to live their lives according to the will of Allah.

Five pillars of Islam

There are five pillars of Islam which are considered as the foundation of the religion. These are:

Testimony:

That is to testify. That is, testifying that "there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." This declaration is considered the most important pillar of Islam.

prayer:

It refers to the five prayers that are obligatory on Muslims. They are performed at the time of Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. And it is considered a way of communication with Allah.

Zakat:

It is giving charity to the poor and needy. Muslims are required to donate 2.5% of their wealth to charity every year.

Fasting:

It refers to fasting in the month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of Islamic history. Muslims are required to abstain from food and other physical needs during this month from sunrise to sunset.

Hajj:

It is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia that every Muslim who can afford it must do at least once in their lifetime. It is considered a way to purify one's soul and strengthen one's faith.

Other Beliefs and Behaviors

In addition to the five pillars, there are other beliefs and practices that are central to Islam. These include:

Jihad:

Fighting for Allah, for the Messenger, for Islam, for the protection of the country and for one's right is called Jihad.

Halal:

It means that which Allah and the Messenger have made permissible. Such things are lawful for us.

Courtesy:

Muslims are encouraged to dress modestly and avoid behaviors that are considered sinful, such as adultery and alcoholism.

Family Values:

Islam places great emphasis on family values and encourages Muslims to marry and have children. The family is considered the foundation of society, and children are seen as a blessing from Allah.

Tolerance:

Islam teaches that Muslims should be tolerant of other religions and beliefs. Muslims are encouraged to respect other religions and live in harmony with people of different faiths.
